Get Atta Here!Date Added: Feb. 3, 2002
Start with a national tragedy, stir in a little mistaken identity, add a pinch of Clinton-Bashing and smother it all in a thick sauce of conspiracy and you've got the winning recipe for a long-lasting chain letter. Subject: Spread The Word Terrorist pilot Mohammed Atta blew up a bus in Israel in 1986. The Israelis captured, tried and imprisoned him. As part of the Oslo agreement, with the Palestinians, in 1993, Israel had to agree to release so-called "political prisoners." However, the Israelis would not release any with "blood on their hands." The American President at the time, Bill Clinton, and his Secretary of State, Warren Christofer, "insisted" that all prisoners be released. Thus, Mohammed Atta was freed and eventually "thanked the U.S." by flying an airplane into Tower One of the World Trade Center. This was reported by many of the American T.V. Networks at the time that the terrorists were first identified. It was censored in the U.S. from all later reports. I think that all of the American public be made aware of these facts.......so, do your thing if you agree. This is one of several e-mail chain letters that attempt to pin at least partial blame on former President Bill Clinton for the American tragedy of September 11. Interestingly, earlier versions pointed the finger at Ronald Reagan and his Secretary of State, George Shultz, not Clinton and Christofe as in the version above. But, it doesn't matter whose administration this event purported happened under, because it didn't happen as described. The bus bomber in 1986 was 33-year old Jordanian, Mahmoud Atta. The World Trade Center suicide pilot was Mohammed Atta. The difference was subtle enough to be missed by several news organizations around the globe, many of which erroneously reported this misinformation as real. But what we have here is a simple case of mistaken identity. Break this chain! References: Snopes.com |
